Dear Eric,
This is to commend you and your team on the excellent work with respect to the restoration and painting of my much loved old timer house in North Vancouver. As a single woman I can sadly say that finding trustworthy, dedicated and experienced craftspeople that care about the quality and delivery of their work can be a daunting task. For your information I interviewed approximately 12 enterprises in my search for the right person to take on my work. I am so happy that you were my ultimate choice. I want to commend you for the following qualities –
1. You arrived on time for a preliminary evaluation of the required work - not everyone did and nor did they call me to advise delays or cancellations. I also appreciated the fact that you were always on site and that you and your crew arrived when you said you would begin the job and worked through until the job was completed.
2. I appreciated the care that was taken to protect my plants and generally leave the property in a reasonable state at the end of each day. There were many finer details that you included in your work that took you extra time and effort that added significant value to the overall completed project. I thank you for caring for my house in such a manner to include this extra effort.
3. I thank you for taking the time to thoroughly understand my requirements. You also took the required time to carefully evaluate what was truly required to complete the work and pointed out potential problems or issues and options that might have been required to fix those problems. I appreciated the fact that you truly cared about my old house and restoring it. Many contractors I interviewed left me with the feeling that I had no idea what I was in for or what it might cost me at the end of the day.
4. I appreciated that you provided me with your binder with lots of pictures of work in various stages and references from people whom you worked with in the past. It allowed me to verify that you really did have the required experience. I also appreciated that you had available copies of your insurance and other relevant documentation at the time of our first meeting.
5. I valued the time you took to document all work in a written contract and that you were open and honest about potential adjustments to the cost that might arise if additional problems were identified as the repair work was undertaken. You pointed out additional issues as you found them and provided me with options and cost estimates on a timely basis. There were no surprises.
6. I have to smile when I think about your patience and attention to ensuring that I was happy with the colours chosen for this historical home. I love my newly restored house and I love the colours and I am very happy with all of the work completed. Thank you again.
